PEDRO PORTUGUESA LDA has a 40 years experience in men’s and ladies manufacturing and became one of the most important Portuguese manufacturers in trousers, skirts and ladies jackets on the traditional and casual line.
In order to achieve a very high quality product, PEDRO PORTUGUESA has a large experience in producing their products with the highest quality fabrics and trimmings.
Our main office and industrial unit is located 15 kilometres’ from Oporto (Portugal) with 180 employees which daily produce 700 trousers (men or lady), skirts and 100 ladies jackets. Our unit is equipped with very modern machinery (technical and computerised pattern room – automatic cutting equipments and various technical machines all over the production process) and is followed by our several high-qualified technicians.
PEDRO PORTUGUESA also has its own collection “PRIMEUR” which is sold on our local market and can be adapted to its customers needs. Although and thanks to our versatility, our company is also prepared to develop (patterns) all new styles and collections that our clients may need. Our main markets are Portugal, Germany, United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland and Spain.

We can develop styles from sketches/spec and also have our own pattern development and cutting systems
The factory make level is medium to higher end product at decent prices
We have a dedicated head office team of 7 who are all English speakers, with 147 workers on the production line
Our outlook is very proactive and has worked with most of our clients for 5-10yrs
WORKING CONDITIONS
Minimum school leaving age for this country is 17 years old.
This factory does not employ young people below this age.
Basic working week is 40 hours.
Hours over time are permitted

RAW MATERIAL PROCEDURES
To what extent are fabric and components checked? (Weight, shade, faults etc.)
10% initially, if faults find we keep checking the entire lot.
PRE - PRODUCTION PROCEDURES
A product specification sheet is drawn up for each style.
New product is introduced onto the line always with the approved sample.
A pilot or 1st batch is assessed before commencement of bulk.
The machines are set up’s standard.
ON - LINE PROCEDURES
Measurements and quality control.
Sealed samples are visible.
Tape measures and size specifications are in evidence.
FINAL INSPECTION
100% final inspection.
Trimming is included in the inspection.
Minor and major faults are defined.
Quality measurement report made after final exam.
Repairs fixed when possible, seconds are kept or sent to customer.
FABRIC TESTING
Only when requested by customer in an independent lab, with additional costs for the customer.
SAFETY PROCEDURES
The factory has:
A Broken Needle Policy (including safe disposal of broken needles).
Exchange needle procedure (including safe disposal of worn needles).
Metal detector not available.
Pins and needles are not visible on the sewing room floor under machinery or in thread holders.
Scissors are secured to the machines.
